These pictures were taken from 1953 to 1963 mainly on a Voigtlander Bessa I camera and form part of a collection of over four thousand photographs of buses and trollybuses. A lot of these photos are of Maidstone & District and East Kent vehicles and are in black and white. I tended to photograph older half cab double deckers and singledeckers in preferance to 'modern' rear engined vehicles.
A student could not afford colour in those days, the colour shots are normally the result of Xmas or Birthday presents! A few of the best colour shots are shown in the Sample Photos Page along with a few B & W. These color photos were taken on M & D and East Kent Bus Club Tours to East Kent and Essex operators on the original Kodak Ektachome Film. Ektachome is still my favourite Transparency film after over 50 years!!
The time taken to scan all my photos is considerable and progress is not as fast as I originally envisaged. However over 97% of my negatives have been scanned. M & D, East Kent, Maidstone Corporation,Portsmouth Corp London Transport and Southdown are finished and Independents have been 95% completed. This means I am have finished my 120 negs and am finishing scanning my 35mm negs
The next job is to enter all the details in a database and make this available on line. It will be then possible to search for a particular Vehicle by Registration Number, Fleet Number and /or Operator. This is a long term project and will be at least the Middle of 2017 before it's finished.

Just found some Ferrania 35mm slides, will scan then and put a few up to see how they look. The photo of RKP917 is one of these.
